The director of this group wrote a letter to the IRS’s Exempt Organizations Division, asking them to look into the comments made by Pastor Charles Worley for being in violation of federal law.
His church, as a 501 (c) 3 organization, has violated the law by attempting to influence an election. Therefore, they must pay taxes.
This really needs to catch on. In addition to the disgusting hate and ignorance that spewed from his mouth, he encouraged his congregation to not vote for a “baby killer and homosexual lover.”
I am certain that there are many more pastors and priests that preach political messages one way or another. There will never be a true separation of church and state until churches are taxed like any other for profit organization. Giving churches an exempt status clearly establishes a state religion over no religion.

I remember every Wednesday night when I was young, I would have to go to catechism. My father wanted me to be Catholic and my mother acquiesced.
Whenever the class got unruly, we were threatened with eternal damnation. I had a difficult time buying it as an 8 year old.
I think being raised Catholic contributed enormously to me reverting back to the atheist that I was born as.
